Going Dewey
When you have been in business as long as the IRC has, you'd think we'd rest on our laurels occasionally. But that's far from our strategy! New ideas, new resources, new approaches to our established mission are all part of our modus operandi. We've offered great speakers and plans are in the works for even more promising events! And yes, we occasionally look at new approaches that have been tried and true for others for years. Such was the case with our decision to convert our holdings to the Dewey classification system. Library volunteer Anthony Grillo, a retired librarian, approached Paula Hartzell, IRC Director, to discuss the possibilities. They determined that there are numerous advantages for visitors. As of mid-August about one-third of the reference library has been done. If you have any questions about this major project, we invite you to e-mail us at resource.ctr@dol.net. We'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, we welcome your prayers for our staff and volunteers as they continue the project.
